My heart is so heavy. It's hard to concentrate. I find myself praying for the babies and the vulnerable, and for those whose culture and life experiences are so much different than my own. The past week has brought a new level of fear and suffering into the world, which I believe must be allowed to be birthed so that healing and hope can grow.
We are seeing deep pain emerge from the depths of humanity's collective memory. Things we had forgotten are entering our awareness once again. These unprecedented times may overwhelm us; that is to be expected. From the social isolation we have endured due to COVID-19, to the agony of broken bodies and wounded hearts, we are all sensing the innate need to be heard and to deeply listen to each other, especially those who are being allowed to do so for perhaps the first time.
As we navigate the days and weeks and months to come, may we allow Sweet Love to guide us in each moment, be it when we are filled with rage or overflowing with grace. It's the only thing that there's just too little of. (Jackie DeShannon, What The World Needs Now)
